COMME LA CIGALE... / JUST LIKE THE CICADA...
Pour celles d'entre vous qui ne le savent pas, j'habite dans le sud de la France, donc rien d'étonnant à ce qu'une cigale soit venue chanter chez moi aujourd'hui... hormis que la cigale en question était d'une espèce bien spéciale puisque ce n'était autre que mon amie Marie-Françoise alias "comme la cigale". Sa visite a été l'occasion de lui offrir son cadeau d'anniversaire. Quelques attentions dans le paquet : une plaque "bienvenue dans mon atelier" repeinte et décorée par mes soins, un coussinet "amitié" avec nos deux initiales brodées (la grille est de Yuko de Casamia), de vieilles bobines en bois présentant un ruban rouge et un ruban de marque à ses initiales, un torchon de cuisine ancien,et une figurine en plâtre représentant une arlésienne.
For those of you who do not know already, I live in the south of France then no wonder that a cicada came and sang at home today... except that the cicada was a special one as it was my friend Marie-Françoise alias "just like the cicada" who came and visited me. It was the occasion for me to offer her birthday present to her. I had packed several gifts : a wooden board which I repainted and decorated my own way. The stitched part means "welcome in my atelier". And also a little cushion "friendship" with both our initials on it (the chart is by Yuko from Casamia), antique wooden spools which I used to roll a ribbon and her initial tape up, a vintage handtowel and the plaster figurine of an "arlesienne".

COUSSIN / CUSHION
Voici le dernier coussin que j'ai confectionné à partir d'anciennes initiales brodées et de matériaux anciens : coupons blanc et bistre de lin/chanvre ancien, et un entre-deux brodé.
Here is the latest cushion I made from antique embroidered initials and antique materials as well : tan and white remnants of hemp linen, and ribbons.

TABLIER / APRON
Ce tablier est parti à destination de l'Italie, à l'occasion de l'anniversaire d'une amie. J'ai un peu de retard, j'espère donc qu'il ne mettre pas longtemps à arriver...
This apron has left to Italy, on the occasion of a friend's birthday. I am a little bit late, then I hope it won't take too long to reach her...

COUSSINETS A AIGUILLES / PINCUSHIONS
Hier soir, , j'ai profité d'une 1/2-heure de libre pour réaliser ces 2 coussinets : le premier pour les aiguilles, le second pour les épingles. Ils sont remplis de graines de lin et de lavande.
Yesterday evening, in 30 minutes of my spare time, I made these 2 mini cushions : the 1st one for my needles, and the 2nd one for my pins. I stuffed them with linen seeds and lavander.

Voici quelques menus trésors récoltés lors de mes dernières chines... des livrets anciens Sajou, une boite en bois DMC et une boite en fer remplie de boutons de nacre.
Here are a few little treasures I found recently while bargain hunting... antique booklets by Sajou, a vintage DMC wood box, an old tin box filled with mother-of-pearl buttons.

ETUI A AIGUILLES / A NEEDLES SHEATH
Le nouveau hobby de Séverine... c'est le tricot ! A l'occasion de son anniversaire, je tenais à lui confectionner un cadeau de circonstance : voici donc l'étui à aiguilles que je lui ai adressé. Les aiguilles qui garnissent l'étui appartenaient à ma grand-mère.
My friend Severine's new hobby is knitting, then I had decided to handmade a gift relating to knitting for her birthday : and there it is, here is the needles sheath I sent her. As for the needles displayed in the sheath, they belonged to my grandmother.
PS : Pour celles qui s'inquiêtent de mon absence sur la bloggosphère (merci pour vos messages)... rassurez-vous : je vais bien. Simplement, j'ai changé d'emploi récemment et mon nouveau job demande beaucoup de mon temps. Une fois que j'aurais tout mis en place, je devrais avoir plus de temps pour mes hobbies.
PS : For those of you who are wondering if I am fine : yes, I am ! You haven't seen me on my blog for a while and the reason for is because my job has changed lately, and my new position requires a lot of my time. Once everything's set at work, hopefully I'll have more spare time for my hobbies... and truth be told, I can't wait !! :o)

SAJOU # 366
J'ai trouvé cet ancien album Sajou sur ebay la semaine dernière. Je n'ai pas pu résister et je l'ai acheté... :o) L'album présente 4 superbes alphabets antiques pour le point de croix. I found this Sajou album on ebay last week. I couldn't even resist and I purchased it... :o) The album offers 4 wonderful antique alphabets for cross-stitching. PETITE COMMODE / LITTLE DRAWER
Il y a quelques temps j'avais fait l'acquisition d'un petite commode en bois. Je l'ai enfin peinte et décorée pour y ranger quelques articles de mercerie ancienne : boutons de nacre, rubans de marque et dentelles anciennes.
I had bought a little wooden drawer a while ago. Finally I painted it and decorated it to sort several vintage sewing items in it : mother-of-pearl buttons, initial & number tapes, French laces.

BIENTOT PAQUES / EASTER SOON
Encore gâtée : aujourd'hui j'ai reçu une magnifique pochette, brodée et confectionnée à mon intention par Yuko. Elle était remplie d'oeufs en chocolats et une adorable carte postale ancienne de Pâques l'accompagnait. Vraiment, je suis comblée ! Voici une bien belle journée grâce à toi, ma chère Yuko. Merci pour tout !
Spoilt again : today I received a gorgeous "pouchette", embroidered and handmade by Yuko for me. It was stuffed with chocolate eggs for Easter and a lovely antique Easter postcard was enclosed as well. Oh, my god ! I'm so happy ! Yuko, you have definitely brightened up my day ! Thank you so much !

"ROUGE PETIT COEUR"
Hier je me suis rendue en Ardèche pour rendre visite à Marie-Françoise et visiter l'atelier de Myriam, la créatrice de "Rouge Petit Coeur". Myriam est une céramiste talentueuse et nous avons énormément apprécié de pouvoir découvrir son univers. Qui plus est, nous avons tellement été bien reçues par Myriam et son mari Jean-Pierre que notre visite a eu du mal à se terminer... :o) Voici quelques photos prises dans son atelier. J'ai bien entendu effectué quelques achats... mais il fait trop sombre pour prendre de bonnes photos... celà attendra donc demain ;o)...
Yesterday I drove all the way to the Ardèche district (about 1 1/2 hour away) to meet my friend Marie-Françoise and visit Myriam's atelier. Myriam is the artist behind "Rouge petit coeur". She is a talented ceramist and we enjoyed pretty much discovering where she creates. Not to mention that we had such a warm welcome by Myriam and her husband Jean-Pierre that we could hardly leave... :o) Anyway here are some pics taken in her atelier. I purchased some of her creations as well... but it is too dark right now to catch good pics... it will wait until tomorrow then ;o)...
